1.1.2. Initial setup

Before your users can use Celoxis, you must create accounts for them. While creating accounts you can give administrative privileges to users so they can perform administrative functions using their own accounts instead of having to log in as the administrator.

In addition to creating user accounts we highly recommend updating the following information. To do this, log in using the administrator account and password.

Updating company profile

This is particularly important for hosted customers as the account is created by us.

Enter company holidays

This information is critical as the application uses this information when estimating task dates.

Create work calendars

In Celoxis each user can have different working hours. This enables accurate schedule estimation. Create work calendars and then assign users to them. A default work calendar is created which assumes 8 hours per day (8:00 am to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM) Monday through Friday.

Hiding unused modules

Celoxis is an integrated solution that includes Projects, Tasks, Time, Expense, Documents, Discussions and more. You can disable modules you do not plan to use. Once disabled, options related to those modules are hidden (from the menu and other places). Users will never see unnecessary options/menus. You can always enable a module again.

Create user and client accounts

Users are notified by email when their accounts are created. Client accounts are for your project customers. Although you must create an account for each client, you need not provide a login/password if they will not log in.

See Company Configuration (Chapter 2) for details.
