You can assign one or more resources to a task. While planning for future projects you rarely know which specific resource will work on a given task. Celoxis offers a unique capability to create and assign tasks to Generic Resources. For example, you can assign a task to a resource called Web Designer and replace this resource with a specific user later on. You may create as many Generic Resources as you like. They are FREE.

In addition to specifying who works on tasks, you can also specify how long they work on it. Allocation may be specified as a fixed unit or as a percentage of the task duration. Each assignee can have a different allocation.

Celoxis provides a resource chart that graphically displays resource availability and conflicts. The chart displays the total effort in hours for all resources in a calendar. If the total effort on a day exceeds working hours, there is a conflict on that day. This happens frequently when resources work on many tasks at the same time. This also helps locate underutilized resources.
